Wedding Table Centre Piece Help
Other
I need inspiration for centre pieces! Lots of you lovely ladies are very creative and are great bargain hunters! Please help with inspiration.. share pics and tips and hints
Hi Laura, I am neither of those things lol. But from a guest perspective, if people will be sitting around table rather than buffet, I would suggest keeping it short rather than tall as it is quite wearing to keep craning your neck around a tall display when chatting.
These were mine. Cocktail glasses, artificial roses to match our colour theme and pearl and diamond brooch to match mine and the bridesmaid jewellery
Something quick and easy is a shallow glass bowl/dish with a few flower heads floating. If you have a higher budget then some glass beads in the bottom with floating candles. As others have said nothing too high.
another simple table decoration is a church candle surrounded by ivy.
My friend just had 3 jars of different heights of pick and mix sweets on each table and people could eat the sweets but it also looked nice. And scattered confetti over the table
I think i might have to go with something tall because the ceilings arw really high in the place im getting married im just lost for inspiration at the moment. Im having sleepless nights trying to think what i can do. especially being on a budget! X
Are you having flowers in your venue? When my mother in law got married we used the flowers from the church as centrepieces to save money. You could just get tall vases.
MrsCraig we are going to have a small amount of flowers.. they are earthy and rustic and probably only enough for the top table. X
LauraStephens ahh ok. I rented mine from the woman who did my tables. Was Β£5 a centrepiece and was cheaper than me making them. Is there anyway you could bulk out your flowers? Have wee tighlights and pinecones and some flowers in Jam jars?
It depends on your tables - are they round or long? When time of the year are you getting married? Are you a 'natural/rustic' or a 'glitzy/bling' kind of person? Make a pros and cons list - colours you love/colours you avoid at all cost, Are you providing favours? (doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg but totally unnecessary) If you can answer some of these on this thread I'm sure you will get some. One of my favourite subjects.
Top table is long so will just have yankee candles/flowers on top table.. all over tables are round, we are getting married in march, i would say we are quote natural, im jist having lavender and baby breath anf thistles for my flowers.. so quite earthy and rustic, we are going with a lavender colour.. avoiding yellow/peach at all cost we are going to do favours of some sort but will only be small.
LauraStephens Sounds lovely. Bulk out your flower displays with pinecones. Gather them now - wash them in a bucket, even if they are closed, and shake as much water off as poss. Then microwave them on a piece of kitchen paper in batches for 30 second bursts. When they are nice and hot take them out and cool on some newspaper. They will open and then you can shake them out so that the bugs and seeds will easily drop out. They can also be scattered around the tablecloths or around your candles. They can be stored in press'n seal bags until needed. Don't forget fresh Ivy garlands - gather carefully and wash thoroughly so that it doesn't have any debris on your tablecloths. I love Gypsophila and it looks classy - noticed that Asda are selling vases (tall and tubular) very reasonably if the top table needs some special treatment. Favours - Wilko sells mini jars (20 for Β£3) fill them with honey, mints, sweets, spirits if your venue allows. The standard favour bags are cheap but hardly rustic - if you have a handy relative that can make them in a sandstone colour material or hessian then do it. They only need 'hairy' string to tie them up and finish the look.
angemski ohhh thankyou so much.. i didnt think of pinecones! There are so many pinecone trees around where i live.. i will start collecting next week i could even glitter them all ect ohhh this has me excited! im open to anymore ideas so of any pop in your head just post on here thankyou for your help
LauraStephens There is much more fun to be had by doing it yourself. I am sure you will get lots of ideas from this thread.
My sister saved glass yoghurt pots, jam jars etc of different sizes and bought I expensive flowers plus some roses and we made small and medium Bouquets, and gave them to the guests afterward

This is such a good idea. But i think i need more height than that.. but defo guna consider this as wedding favours. X
I made these a couple of years ago and was able to make for a really good price. Yes, I know they are a bit more fancy but it was a family request and it was a labour of love.
I am quite handy like this so could do something like this.. i was thinking because im having lavender as my theme.. i could make little lavender filled hearts. its just finding the time
You could always used a sprig of dried Lavender and simply stitch it to the front of each bag..... Oh dear! you will have us all driving you nuts within a couple of days. Good Luck. x
No seriously keep it going.. ive been kicking myself because i cpuldnt find inspiration and now im feeling it! Guna go and collect aload of pinecones tomorrow.. already googleing images of what i could potentially do with them.
Wine glass charms - cheap to make and effective on the tables. Doesn't have to be too girly - look for acrylic or lucite leaf charms and make them yourself. (if you go for green or brown you can continue your theme) Drink Me charms also work. Children - you didn't say if there are any invited. If so stock up on long tube bubbles (Asda 50p atm) and make sure you pick up some non-combatant games from the poundshop. Colouring books, crayons, bubbles etc. Give your Bridesmaid or Groom the task of distributing these after the meal when they tend to want to get down and play and not before. I love the Lavender pillows idea - if hearts are too tricky or time consuming go with a square, add a ribbon loop to the corner and they can be used on a hanger to keep the moths away.
Bubbles was thw first thing i thought of, but the venue doesnt allow bubbles i am guna make up kids packs to try and keep them entertained. Hopefully not many kids will be there
These were mine... I bought them second hand from a website called sellmywedding. Worth a look as you never use them again so donβt pay through the roof. Weβve given ours to parents & grandparents as keepsakes. Xx
Three logs of different heights is nice for a rustic feel. Plant herbs like rosemary and sage in jam jars decorated with raffia and stand on the logs and mix some small candles around them.
I love this but because of the height of the ceiling the logs would have to be really tall! I might see what i can get my hands on and maybe do a smaller version for the top table. Thankyou for your help x
I love the one where they had a suprise wedding! How good is that. Everyone must have been confused lol
Hi Laura... R u able to hang anything from the ceiling in the venue above the tables ? Or is it too high? What part of the country r u located? X
Hi amanda, for the ceremony i can hang things from the beams in the ceiling but in the actual reception room i wont be able too as ceilings are well too high. Im on the wirral. Getting married in leasowe castle
