After Lockdown Weekend Break - Where To Go?
Ask a Question
after the lock down me and my partner want a weekend getaway with my 2 girls some where by the sea, want something affordable but an hotel where u have separate bedrooms 1 for us and 1 for kids not been anywhere before so unsure. can anybody help.
Personally I would leave it this year and avoid going anywhere save and have a better one next year
If your not insistent on an hotel , Hoseaseons web site would be a good place to start, they offer a choice of holiday parks, boat holidays or private cottages for rent at different places around the country. Personally I would not consider booking anything at the moment thou until you know what's happening.
oh be a while before we do go dont want to risk it, just after ideas for now then can be looking around, thanks for the advice.
Your rough geographical region would probably help so people can direct you somewhere that isn't the wrong end of the country and reduce travel costs.
What sort of location are you looking at/where are you based and what's your price range? Would be helpful to know these before offering any suggestions
After the fist wave there will be a second wave of infection so just post phone the holiday plans....
Would not plan anything for this year to be honest....
AgnesFaludi I totally agree with you. I believe it's going to be longer than anyone imagines before we get back to a state of being 'normal'. Personally, I will just be grateful to explore the local areas that I have taken for granted.
I'd be grateful to go for a drive along a few local country roads to be honest. We'll certainly appreciate how close the majority of us on this small island are to beauty spots etc when this is all over.
I'll probably give it a bit before booking anything when lockdown is over but I'm thinking fond thoughts of Bournemouth and walking by the sea! We had a lovely few days in Eastbourne before all this too so also an option.
thank you, yes going to wait another year and hopefully get stay for longer where we go, too much going on and with this about a second wave is not good, best be safe and stay home.
Depending on where you live and if you are able to fly or travel to the ferry, then I Suggest Bangor in Northern Ireland. Lovy wee seaside town and plenty of things in driving distance or you can use public transport and the premier inn is really nice and not too expensive. The harbour is lovely for a walk, depending on children's age, Pickie park is good and Ward park to feed the ducks, the salty dog is a nice restaurant/hotel that overlooks the harbour and does great food, cafe Brasilia is really good for a coffee and lunch. The dirty duck in Hollywood(5 mins from Bangor) is brilliant for food and then go for a nice coastal walk afterwards.
There may be some good UK holiday deals available after the end of the restrictions. Hotels will want to entice people back. Around Exmouth is nice, plus you are close to Exeter if you are looking for something else to do.
Agree with others that you need to roughly say what area you're in or want to travel to. We might suggest something hours and hours away.
something local in lancashire but willing to travel that bit further if the price is good nothing more than £400 if possible
