Weird Food Combos
Ask a Question
Just interested to see what weird and wonderful foods people put together? Im pretty boring with my food but as a comfort i enjoy pizza, carrots and spaghetti

I used to love cheese and jam sarnies as a kid, also thinly sliced apple with a sprinkle of sugar in a sandwich.

Lynibis definitely the cheese and jam sarnies! People at work think I’m weird when I mention this but we loved them growing up.

I used to love Jam and Weetabix. I have no idea where it came from, but I used to sneak biscuits and smother them with the jam without my mother knowing, she would have gone mad otherwise. lol

I did, and still do, love Weetabix with jam AND loads of yummy butter too. People think it's weird but can't see it is much different to same on bread or crackers.

Lynibis I've never of this befor that sounds very tasty. . Something different to try. Going to get some weetabix on my next shop.

Lynibis totally , what is the difference, nothing apart from the Weetabix more healthy as no fat ,salt and sugar etc

shortbread biscuits (with the little raisins in) can’t remember what they’re called but they’re in pretty much all shops, and pickled onions. Was shown to me by someone a few years back thought it would be gross but was actually amazing lol

CharlotteReno it does Sound awful. I’m a chef so to Me some things should not go together. Tastes really good though x

Peanut Spread and Raspberry Jam - you have to love it, don't tell you you have not tried this dirty food. It is a known secret, it's absolutely delicious but don't tell the kids whatever you do.

Dannyspeed just love peanut and jam. First had it on a holiday in the usa. And I still have it now. It's nice to know it's not just me that eat it.

Cream cheese with strawberry jam on crackers ham and pineapple sandwich. Fryed egg with marmite sandwich . Apple and salad sandwich cheese and crisp sandwich

nicolajaynehend used to love a cheese and crisp butty as a kid, couldn't think of anything worse now!x

I happily have chilli with everything, and I mean everything, including dessert items, mainly as I don’t really like sweet things. Chilli just savours everything up for me

I used to love crumpets and cheese. I can't eat cheese now due to milk. how I got into eating that, I do not remember. The cheese had to be grated though so it would melt.

Hi shellyann there is cheese you can get that are dairy free. And then you could still have your crumpets. It dos sound nice going to give it a try.

nicolajaynehend yes, I've tried it and whilst is it very nice, it gives me terrible stomach cramps. I was so happy to be able to have 'cheese' back but it all went wrong very quickly.

ShellyAnn i cant have dairy either, brings my skin out in blisters all over instantly. Have you tried vegan cheese, its not really the same as cheese but it actually tastes really good, we have vitalite slices from asda x

ShellyAnn so sorry to hear dairy free up set you to. It must be hard for you to fine food you can eat and dos not up set you. Have you try goats cheese , milk, butter.

nicolajaynehend I tested not allergic to goats milk, so probably ok for goats cheese, but I just can't. I picture those little leathery goats udders hanging and I just can't I've been dairy free for about 5 years now. I'm used to it.

ShellyAnn shame you can’t have that now, my husband likes cheese and marmite crumpets.

ShellyAnn what kind of vegan cheese? I used to have the same problem with soya based foods...have you tried the coconut oil based ones or nut based ,they are improving vegan cheese all the time and more variety available

LottieMyya also you could use nutritional yeast flakes, packed with protein and taste really cheesy, keep for ages in cupboard too

Salt and vinegar stick crisps with apple pie - i dont like either normally but together i do
Also mini snickers and smokey bacon crisps

LottieMyya i cant remember but i do like to eat things together. I dont like my food touching each other on a plate but i like to mix them myself if its snacks i like a little bite of each

This was recommended to me by a friend, and it works. A Granny Smith apple with almond butter.

LottieMyya Just been looking where to get Almond Butter and noticed its in Aldi for £1.69, will take a look when next in there as a bit cheaper than Tesco:-

LottieMyya most big supermarkets actually, next to the peanut butter. Nice on toast too, though I prefer peanut butter on toast.

TiaTia lovely, bargain price too. Thank you, ill keep my eyes peeled for that next week x

GrahamT1976 yes lovely...add some tomato sauce too it will be heavenly..or what sauce you prefer

Agreed. Both on a sandwich (preferably baguette) together with some piri piri chicken and Peppadews too... Heaven!

When I first started working I used to have a buttered roll with prawn cocktail skips in it for lunch

LeighReidAtanas just the smell of skips makes me wanna vom . I won't be trying that one x

I hate weird food combos but my dad eats tomato, bacon and peanut butter in a sandwich and my partner does butter on digestive biscuits which I think is equally disgusting but apparently normal

Rice and vinegar is a thing for me.
Many people say putting peanut butter in burgers is delicious but I have never tried it myself.

I don't think I eat anything weird really but when I have crackers they have garlic butter and cheese spread either roasted mushrooms or palms ham or pineapple topped with nando's peri peri sauce
