Do You Have Any Weird Habits?

Other

Watching a repeat of Would I Lie to you the other night and Les Dennis confessed to saving his toe nails to use later as tooth picks.Brad Pitt is averse to soap and Tom Cruise apparently uses nightingale poo as some sort of alternative botox. What weird habits do you have? Image

That sounds disgusting about Les Dennis, my daughter used to collect the skin from her feet and that was bad.

MelissaLee1963 For years I've wanted to try that foot treatment where the little fish nibble the hard skin off your feet... two questions:

  • Where do you go to get it done?
  • Does it tickle? (I'm very ticklish).

davidstockport I had it done a few years back when it was quite faddish so they had temporary set ups in some shopping centres. I went to a salon up the West End somewhere. It was a little weird at first but it fast becomes acceptable. I wouldn't say ticklish so much as like mini shocks but somewhat perversely it was quite nice. Suffice it to say I still have hard skin on my feet so I suppose you'd have to commit more than once.

MelissaLee1963 Thanks for your reply - I suppose it's a bit like when the dog likes to lick your sweaty feet, it's a sensation that is hard to describe especially when they get their tongue between your toes.

davidstockport I didn't know that the fish are starved first so they eat your skin for substance, and someone I know who had it done because of having psoriasis said they have to kill the fish afterwards to stop infection

MelissaLee1963 At least with canine feet licking nothing or nobody gets hurt, I checked out reasons dogs MIGHT do this ... some interesting theories. https://terriblyterrier.com/why-dog-is-licking-your-feet/

I was fascinated by what Tom Cruise used as a facial, apparently it is a Japanese treatment also used by Victoria Beckham, this is an intriguing read for anyone else who is interested. It isn't as repugnant as some might have imagined: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uguisu_no_fun

Urea in skin creams is synthetic but many people swear by urotherapy(urine on skin) and amaroli(drinking urine).

tumblespots I could and I have.I recommend second or third stream. Some sort of symbiosis. You taste what you imbibe so it keeps me off the jaffa cakes lol.Seriously though I studied Ayurvedic medicine so tried it some years back. It's not half as bad as you might imagine.I prefer home made lemonade though lol.In India they drink cow urine.

MelissaLee1963 I thought I recalled Sarah Miles saying that the first flow was the one she drank - but I could be wrong (I usually am - my memory is terrible)

MelissaLee1963 In India cows are sacred - they perhaps

think it's Holy Water... just a thought 😀

davidstockport Correct again David. Gomutra as termed is indeed viewed as 'holy' so it is in many medicines as well. Not in foods or sweets though.

According to Ayurveda, Gomutra (cow urine) can cure leprosy, fever, peptic ulcer, liver ailments, kidney disorders and some...

I wouldn't actually call it a habit but I have been collecting the shavings from my electric razor for some time, it's like a soft powder. I am intending to try to make a very hard ivory like material from it.

Please don't scoff - if I'm successful it could save the lives of numerous elephants.

I'm now wondering if Les Dennis would be interested in donating some of his toe nail clippings to help in my experiments. Not sure but I think there's some kind of connection between ivory and toe nails.

There are some rather strange religious rituals regarding hair and nails

Interesting David. Toe nails and hair are made of Keratin as is Rhino horn. Heffalumps have ivory horns though.

Well if my attempts to invent an artificial ivory don't work out, I can give the rest of my shavings to my houseplants, but who knows as you quite correctly say there are connections between human hair and rhino horn, I might be able to fob it off as powdered rhino horn. Who knows... this time next year I could be a millionaire 😀
