What's the Best Shampoo?

Ask a Question

So I can't find a cheapish good shampoo?!? What does everyone use and what's the best for the price. I feel like none of the 'cheaper' products work for my hair, it feels unwashed.

Any shampoos without sulphates or parabens! You can get some good ones available in supermarkets like Palmers coconut oil shampoo, or tresemme botanique. Avoid L’Oréal etc which do not advertise no silicones, they just coat your hair with silicone to make it look shiny, rather than repair.

I always struggled finding a decent shampoo and decided to try Lush's shampoo bars, I wont go back now my hair feels healthier and cleaner than it ever has and I even wash it a little less often.

I love John Frieda shampoo range. They leave my hair feeling really smooth and silky and the smell is a bonus

I love Dove, Garnier. The most important bit it has to be volumising shampoo as my hair got much thinner with age.

The best shampoo I use is horrible smelling stuff of coal tar, my hair feels so clean. It’s not cheap but you don’t need to use much and I don’t need conditioner.

Head and Shoulders for me. It does the job and it’s affordable. Works better than the fancier, expensive stuff. If you do need to make the condition of your hair better, you may need to fork out for conditioner and serums

I use Head & Shoulders but now and again I need to use stronger stuff to control the scalp, especially when the weather is bad. I find coconut oil is good

I have boots own, Tescos own, Morrisons own or Alberto Balsam. I used to use Aussie but I find these are just as good. Try the Lidl dupes of Aussie and Herbal essences, they are good too.

It might not be the shampoo... try this it's great and works for me. Wash your hair once with your shampoo then rinse then wash it again with shampoo then follow with your conditioner. My hairdresser recommended me to do this she said the first wash gets the products off your hair then the second wash properly washes your hair. Since doing this, my hair feels really clean afterwards. Also, alternative between shampoos, use one then a different one the next time. I love the Organix Argan Oil ones but I also love the L'Oreal elvive purple ones for blonde hair, you can leave them on for a bit too to add tone to your hair and lift the colour (Obvs only if you have blonde hair!)

Depends on the type of hair you have. I either use Mark Hill or Aussie products on my hair as they are the only ones to make my hair feel healthy and happy .

My hairdresser recommended Dove shampoo to me and my hair is so soft, but I try to wash it only once a week! Before that I used Aveda which was great but very expensive!

Still using a huge 1 litre bottle of Tesco Everyday Value Shampoo that I think cost 40p. I only seem to need about a teaspoon of shampoo the water is quite soft at my house. It's very mild and doesn't really do anything clever with the hair or scalp except clean it. It doesn't condition the hair at all. I'd typically wash my hair twice with it. At the moment I'm using a little more as I haven't had a hair cut for a while.
