What's Your Favourite Coffee?
Ask a Question
One of the things I miss most about working from home, was my daily coffee at Starbucks. I haven't had a latte in over a year. Instant just isn't the same.
Are you an espresso, latte or cappuccino person
I do like a mocca but the one good thing about lockdown is without the school run get time for a coffee first thing
I like the cookie dough instant coffee from Beanies Flavour Co the best, personally. To me, it tastes like having biscuits dipped in coffee, without having the added calories of actually eating the biscuits!
cocolgooh I've bought these as gifts but I don't think I've tried any myself, I might have to try them, people seem to either love or hate them, I'm not a huge hot drink drinker, so the little pots would be great for me.
Imnotcheap As far as I am aware Beanies Flavour Co is a brand of coffee, rather than a coffee shop. I've just seen they do a box of 100 sachets on offer at the moment, includes 10 different flavours, tempting!
DeBunny If you have a Home Bargains near you, they sometimes have the little boxes with 10 sachets in them for around £1. They’re not on the Home Bargains website but a couple of their stores near me have them from time to time. I get them there to try the new flavours sometimes before buying the jars of the ones I like from their website.
I always buy kenco duo when it is on offer and I store it as much as I can as it is pricey. I like the latte and capuccino.
I'm really missing Costa Cappuccino's at the moment.
Although the Costa in my town is open for takeaways I'm not risking it, I'll have to drink twice as much when the world is back to normal.
I live in an area with a ridiculous amount of coffee shops (Although, there will likely be less when this mess is finally over). I've just been using coffee shop apps to order/pay ahead and collect it at the shop door while I'm out for a walk. I usually get a triple shot black Americano or an occasional matcha latte. In the summer I'll also have iced coffee and nitro cold brew.
For me it would have to be an Irish coffee. I appreciate that is not for working hours. During office hours I have a double espresso to give me the jump start I need.
I like a Tassimo Costa cappuccino, but they're expensive and the discs are bad for the environment, so I'll probably give them up soon and go back to Kenco Millicano.
TheChimp i am having the same debate with myself! I nearly gave it away last year but the OH said it would be just as bad for the environment if someone else used it.
I’ve practically stopped using coffee shops over the last year but do try and recreate some at home. I don’t have any fancy kit other than an aero press. If you like coffee and have a sweet tooth google a ‘Dalgona’ coffee. It’s really easy to make with instant coffee granules and is a lovely treat
I very rarely visit coffee shops, only when a friend or family member wants to go, I'm lucky if I go to a coffee shop once a year. I do enjoy a mocha or a latte. My husband drinks coffee everyday, although not from a shop.
Quite like the Nescafe Azera (in the tins) but also use Kenco freeze dried... much depends on the sort of 'coffee' being made, full milk frothy latte with a double spoonful of most brands and a hint of caramel tastes great anytime. Didn't really find that the coffee machines (Gusto) did make a 'special' coffee.
I just make a daily pot of filter coffee, it's thermos so it percolates at 6.30am and stays piping hot until 11ish
There is new coffee drink to add to the list... M&S have launched Magic Coffee in their cafes -
First it was all about the latte, then the flat white, and now… meet the Magic Coffee! Having taken the world-famous Melbourne coffee scene by storm, Magic Coffee is now launching in the UK, exclusive to the M&S Café.
The secret to this perfect drink is the magic ratio of coffee to milk – a double ristretto is topped with velvety steamed milk and served in a short 6oz glass. The result? A perfectly balanced, less bitter, but uniquely flavoursome coffee. (M&S)
ACR That looks and sounds yummy, but unfortunately I don't have a M&S store near me otherwise I would be trying it
beccatavender if it's popular, it probably won't be too long before it's available at every other coffee shop under a different name.
I do love a latte out Costa I have a wee Dolce gusto coffee machine the latte is nice in them the gingerbread latte out Costa is absolutely delicious
I like ALDI's Alcafe Rich Roast coffee when I'm at home and Costa or Starbucks if I'm out.
I don't drink many hot drinks, but I'd do occasionally have one.
I tend to have anywhere from an Americano to a Flat White for me
beccatavender I felt similar, and tried a few different options (including Tassimo - which was nice but quite expensive and really didn't like the single use plastic/metal mixed waste)
I ended up trying Nescafé Espresso (trust me! I was surprised) with frothed milk and honestly I mostly prefer it to the coffee shop now anyway, and it's really cheap. Probably about 1 part coffee (1.5 tespoons of coffee with water) and 3 or 4 parts frothed milk
Milk Frother (any will do I'm sure, but this works well) : www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000BZ6BXE
Coffee (they do bigger jars, and it's often on offer) : www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09Q31PBG5
Honestly it is really good
I'm not a huge fan of coffee but if you haven't tried one I'd recommend a chai latte or dirty chai (chai latte with a shot of espresso!)
My favourite is Douwe Egberts Pure Gold mixed with Galaxy Frothy hot chocolate, just make with water with a dash of milk - it is my must for lunch.
Pjran Sounds good, my husband always makes me coffees, he doesn't like the way I make it, but I rarely have it in bed
beccatavender I do prefer the coffee my husband makes rather than my daughters. I have given her simple instructions, full spoon instant coffee then half an inch cold water then pour boiling or near boiling water on. Stir clockwise and deliver with a smile and a cheery good morning
I drink lots of coffee but I love my Tassimo latte's that's my treat at the end of a long day
i used to love the Tassimo Costa lattes and cappuccinos but they got very expensive and not so eco friendly. I like all the Kenco instant varieties. For a treat I take out the cafetiere and use some of the Costa Rican or Columbian ground coffee from Aldi
For me just a plain boring black coffee and for the most part from instant coffee normally the Nescafé in a tin and is a fine powder (forget the name) . I don't particularly like the flavour of coffees from Costa lota coffee or Starbucks type places
