What's the Longest You Would Wait for a Table at a Restaurant?
Other
We spent half an hour waiting for a Ramen restaurant in -19c cold weather. Not sure it was that worth it. What's the longest you've ever waited and how long do you think is too long?
I would wait 30 or 40 minutes inside in the warm at the bar if I had not prebooked, but would wait 0 minutes outside in the cold unless I had booked, in which case I would expect to be taken inside to wait.
The place we went to was really small so no bar. But in hindsight I think you're right. It was a bit cold to be waiting that long.
I've waited for half an hour a few timed, but we were sat at the bar talking and weren't in a hurry so we didn't really notice
About 20mins but stopped going to restaurants, who knows how old or preheated, or if it was prepared with dirty hands.
Lol. You must be a great chef if you don't go to any restaurants. Do you eat fast food? Those are worse if that's what you're worried about.
I decided to close my mind to that thought many years ago as I have never been ill after eating out or from a takeaway. There are dirty food shops for sure but we can't guard against all eventualities and by being too careful our bodies will be unable to fight off any bugs. Imagine living 60 plus years ago and the stuff they ate in medieval times, makes me shudder.
I would possibly wait for about 15 minutes or up to 30 at the bar but I couldn't justified waiting any longer I don't think.
It depends on the restaurant. If I know in advance there is going to be a long wait and it's somewhere I really want to eat then I would be willing to stick it out. Although, I'd only wait for a long time if it's a new place or somewhere I hadn't visited before. Otherwise, I'd probably just go somewhere else
We waited 30 mins once and still no one came to take our order in an empty restaurant in the isle of wight. we walked out in the end. Mum went up to the waitress on the way out and had it out with her for not talking our order even though they seated us so they knew we were there. She said it was nearly closing time and no wanted to cook any more food or serve any customers! It was actually over an hour until closing time.
That's ridiculous. They should've just said we are closing and not seated you. You could've spent all that time in another establishment.
