What's the Recent Unicorn Craze All About?

Ask a Question

Humans have been fascinated with unicorns for centuries. Now they’re all over cosmetics, pool floaties, and bagels. What’s driving our current obsession?

I find it crazy they seemed to pop up everywhere and so many people are obsessed. Could understand if it was a new thing but as you say they’ve been around for centuries

RachHC I wonder if it's because real life is so hard for many just now, are people looking for something whimsical and fun? Like an escape from reality!?

I tried (and failed) to get hold of a limited edition Unicorn Ritter Sport in 2020. The were exclusive to Wilko. I hope they make another reappearance this year.

SAdeals the limited edition Unicorn Ritter Sport chocolate bar is available again. This time you can only purchase it on their website. Although, I expect it will sell out quite soon. I've ordered it along with an assortment of their other flavours I'd like to try that I can't find locally

... the Unicorn Ritter Sport bar is no longer available for purchase on their website. Consequently, it didn't take very long for resellers to start listing them on eBay for vastly inflated prices. The bar originally cost £1.99, but someone is trying to sell one for at least 10 times that amount. I still have two of the Unicorn bars left at home, but I intend to eat one an give the other one away to a friend 🦄

Aliceband with a unicorn horn on it!- What a total waste of money. Stick an upside down ice cream cone on her head, you'll hardly notice the difference😀

Unicorns are has-beens.

Camels got the hump.

Llamas are where it's at.

There are llama leggings, llama face masks, llama socks, llama party plates and llama mugs, llama rugs, llama tea towels, llama lunch boxes, Boppi llama pets, even Unicorns vs Llamas Monopoly...

I'm now betting big on Giraffes

I think it’s all down to marketing. It is a way of encouraging people to buy a new set of bedding for their child or something equally unnecessary.

The unicorn craze has been going a few years now. My daughter was one of the first, she then decided to change to sloths. The idea was a trip to Costa Rica but due to Covid this has been put on hold.

So imo it’s just pop culture yeah. But like if there was snoopy Merch (which there is more of nowadays)I’d most likely be all over it because I love snoopy and as much as the peanuts gang have been out for years...products haven’t always been avail or it’s been select in what you can purchase. If it makes someone happy why not eh 😊
