Whispering Fridge

In the News

Some longstanding debate about Smart devices and the extent to which they are 'listening in' on us .A woman had switched the microphone off on her fridge and kept receiving numerous messages to switch it back on again. One night she became very dis-settled when she heard it making strange whispering sounds.

It might be nice to have someone to talk to. If the fridge would speak up instead of whisper then it may be ok to converse with.

I don't really see the point in smart fridges, smart dishwashers, smart washing machines etc. They don't do anything that I don't have to do myself. It's not as if they load themselves.

MrsCraig So true.I once thought a bread maker would mix, make and bake .By the time all the ingredients are loaded it's just as well to do it yourself.

MelissaLee1 go down the bread or baking aisle- they look like small bags of flour. There are all sorts - i made a fabulous granary loaf last week. You literally pour the contents of the packet into your bread machine with the required amount of water and press the button that packet suggests. You throw the packaging away and wipe a bit of flour on your forehead to show how hard you have worked ! Image

I hope that picture works.

I think a lot of these smart products are listening in, especially Alexa. The times I have had something come up on Facebook that I have been recently talking about is pretty scary.

Not sure why we would need these sort of devices in our fridges in the first place tbh

We don't have a smart fridge. I often think anyone who listened to our alexa would think we're mean as we often shout shut up at it
