'Who Wouldn't? Who is Honest These Days?'
Other
This is the response given by a man who has been caught out exploiting a £60,000 glitch
In fairness, I don't blame him, as he is obviously not in a good place in his life to think beyond what he was doing, whether that is or is not a result to his own doing
To an extent I agree but it was the buying luxuries and unnecessary things that caught him out . If he'd use it to buy himself food, clothes etc and not palmed it off to others to exploit maybe he'd have maybe never got caught and as a homeless person with nothing I'd personally have said fair play to him, Tesco can afford it.
It's doubtful if Tesco will have to pick up any bill (if they do it's passed onto their customers), If the bank sanctioned the payments it's more likely they would foot the bill.
As the transactions would still be debited to his account - I hope the unsanctioned overdraft charges don't upset him
yes I agree, I would say that 'greed' got the better of him - had he just bought very simple things over the same period of time, it may never have flagged up...not until way, way into the future I'd imagine
hspexy We'll be footing the bill - because we, the taxpayers, have provided him with board and lodgings for at least the next 12 months. I hope he likes porridge
davidstockport we are always the ones who have to foot the bill - and I am sure he doesn't just have to have porridge, as I have heard food provided at Her Majesty's pleasure is quite varied and inclusive of all dietary arrangements
hspexy Free dental treatment too (did you notice his teeth?). No TV licence required, even if they have TV in cell, pensioners in care homes need a licence if they have a TV in their room. (Although free licence if over 75 - at the moment). He'll probably misbehave so he doesn't get "time off" for good behaviour. Free security too - HMPs are rarely burgled.
I think I'll go and "Kick a copper". If the judge doesn't send me down I might kick him too!
davidstockport lol prison does sound more and more appealing...you can also ask to learn some new skills and get a diploma out of it, all for free and you may have better job prospects when you get out, as there are all sorts of programs designed to help those who get out, opposed to the help you get as an unconvicted individual
I had to pay for tuition and exam fees to gain diplomas I studied for in the late 1980s (thousands even then) - I really should have kicked a copper.
I might have picked up other skills such as lock-smithing too (it's always a good profession to fall back on if times are hard)
