Winning

I am no longer on Facebook, but before I deleted my account I won a Royal Mail, Game of Thrones comp consisting of GOT stamps, pictures and calligraphy set.

I won a motorbike on Facebook two years ago. From the perfume shop. I also won an advent box of Prosecco/champagne just before Christmas. As with other competitions RiannonWood, I think there are some scams on Facebook, but most are okay. The number entering these competitions is often very high and consequently the chances of winning are low. It’s still worth having a go though - you never know!

I have only won a goodie bag from facebook, nothing else and I've done quite a few on facebook - more so lately. I wonder how they pick winners on facebook - is it the 1st person who replies? It's not like website comps when a computer can pick. Do they really read every response to questions they ask to enter? I think not. Instagram I have over 40 followers but I don't know who they are. I don't actually have any comp buddies there and I don't use social media to post about myself so no one from 'real life' so I can't enter instagram due to no one to tag.

No, I haven't. And I too am skeptical of social media comps.

Especially the ones which give away ridiculously huge prizes in exchange for just a simple like and tag. For example, the other day I saw posted on here an Instagram comp for a £3,000 cash prize. Yeah right.
