Has Working from Home Changed Your Opinion of Open Plan Living
Ask a Question
Recently there has been a trend towards open plan living, however has working from home changed your mind ?
I work in diff places at home because I prefer the change of scenery. I did get a desk at the start but Feng shui n all that I sold it on.
I have never liked open plan living and my husband working from home has reinforced how important it is to have a wall and a door between the kitchen and the living room!
My next home will not be open living, there will be a wall between each room! I don't like the look of open plan living and when you have a toddler, keeping them in one area is vital, I don't need my son running to the kitch the whole time because there is no wall or door to stop him! Non open plan all the way for me!
My sister had an open plan with a toddler and has now moved on to a bigger house but with walls, much easier to keep my niece in sight
I like the idea of working in one room and then close the door from rest of house. Especially when my partner and son are making a noise
I've never been keen on open plan, I like to have a kitchen space and separate lounge. Open plan is great for entertaining though but I don't entertain much (even before Covid).
Working from home has not been something I have been able to do but I wouldn't like to live in a totally open plan living area. I don't want to see the kitchen when relaxing watching tv. I have a kitchen diner but can cross my hall in two steps into the lounge with a door!
