Is really World Book Day a money making scam?

Thank goodness that my childrens primary have ditched the WBD dress up and opted for a PJ day instead ....what do you think about this ?

Most schools have ditched it whice I think a good thing to do as in Wales we have St davids day just before ours doing it and it's based on a book they choose so children don't even get a say. It's another money maker for the shops

I don't have children but I do feel it's a money making scam and it can course bullying in schools especially to the children from poorer families who can't afford the more expensive type of costumes. I think pj days are a much better idea for dressing up for WBD

I don't know as they give you a voucher which then persuades children to buy new books when they red them their knowledge expands.

i dont know my kids are book worms and they love world book day purely because they not only love the books but the characters 🙂
