Never been in debt for Christmas and never will be. You spend what you can afford and that is it. It is not worth getting into debt for one day.

spend only what you can afford. Christmas is about quality time with the people you care about.

When all my children were young i could not of had christmas with out debt ... with the money i had it was to difficult to save. I paid it off every week/month and had a fantastic time...i done the same for many years. I had to do it....not for extravagance.

Fortunately I’ve never got into debt because of Christmas. For last few months I was saving up all of the Amazon Voucher that I’ve managed to get on the sites and this covered Christmas presents costs this year 😁

I have done exactly that for around ten years now. Christmas rarely costs me anything more than a little extra for food. Our extravagance this year was lobster on Christmas day as I do not eat meat. Lovely they were too. Xx

Not this year. Was lucky enough to have a pension lump sum a few months ago so was able to treat the grandkids this year.

I've never been in debt (other than student loans) so I can't fully appreciate being in that situation. But surely you just don't buy a lot and go crazy? Spend what you have, nothing more.

Not me, i save all year round with park savings. I'm mortified that last year someone borrowed to get my kids (and others) presents, they'd be none the wiser with a selection box and their company.

I have never been into debt at Christmas. I spend what I can afford. and start shopping earlier picking bits up so I don’t have it all to pay out in one month.

Yes we are in debt. But the only reason we was is because my partners car broke on the run up to Christmas ,he needs it for work purposes . the amount it cost to repair over a 2 months of it being in and out of the garage. It was our Christmas savings. We have 7 kids and a grandchild so we unfortunately had to get into debt. But our kids only get big items and toys on birthdays and Christmas. other than a trip out to theme parks etc throughout the year they get their stuff at these time. The run up to Christmas was awful this year but seeing all their little faces was lovely and worth it.

no, I've never been in debt before of christmas and never would. Buying presents for people who don't really need any presents or any item. No way I'd go into debt for that.
