Yesterday Celebrations

Ask a Question

Did anyone celebrate yesterday. I was annoyed with my neighbours as some of them did and got very close. This to me becomes a mass gathering. When will people listen.

No didn't and wouldn't have if weren't in lockdown. People in street did and had their kids mixing playing running round so much of social distancing expect high numbers after weekend

No I didn't and wouldn't have. Why clap of carers/NHS on Thursday and then gather together on Friday to possibly spread the bug to cause even more work for those that are caring for you and you've just clapped for. Image what one does they all follow.

We celebrated in our back garden. We put bunting up and chilled with Christmas party food from freezer and drinks. My cousin sent me a clip this morning - her street neighbours all went out to their front gardens and continued until midnight with 100% distancing, even the children understood and didn't break the rule. (it's a wide road cul de sac so that helped) The vid made me a little jealous. There will always be 'stupid' around who refuse to comply and the news today is full of incidents putting frontliners as risk. 😞

Just the two of us had afternoon and it was enjoyed. The neighbours seemed well behaved on the whole.

I know of a house that has had two large gatherings in the Oat couple of weeks. Several cars parked on their drive (normally one).

I can't believe that people want to celebrate VE day in these times. The people who lost their lives or lived through it didn't do so for the country to end up in this mess. It should never be underestimated what the men in those times did for us (men in my family included - dad is still alive) but they would be horrified at the world today. This isn't what they fought for.... and the celebrations taking place where they clearly don't adhere to the current social distancing and therefore put lives at risk are not welcome - well they probably were for those involved - until they potentially become sick?! A potential spike of the virus could follow.... 🐞
