How Do You Feel About an Air Bridge System?

How do you feel about the Uk adopting an air bridge system
Air bridges - also known as "travel corridors" - would involve passengers travelling between the UK and specific destinations not needing to self-isolate for 14 days after arriving in the UK.
yes i will send you some links, it has not been confirmed but the government has suggested it
here are some articles hope this answers your question

JessHindle a lot of people have booked holidays to Spain as they will be getting rid of there quarantine on 1st July
JessHindle the problem with that is that people have work and cannot take 2 weeks off just so they can stay at home
It’s hilarious because the moment the government announced they were going to enforce a 14 day mandatory quarantine, they proposed the air bridge loop hole straight away. Why bother? They should’ve done it earlier
i agree with that 100 percent they should have introduced this earlier maybe a few weeks ago
Ziad4321 they should’ve done it when they introduced the lockdown. Without border control, a lot of people may have been bringing the virus in with them, and then using the public transport, etc. I understand this was a new experience for everyone worldwide, but the Uk were in a position to do more as they had observed other countries with their strategies
Do the government not know that you can circumnavigate these rules and travel from 'X' to a place that has an airbridge connection to the UK, fly here and therefore not have to self isolate? They are absolutely clueless!
If people don't live here why are they coming? It must be for business purposes? surely it can't be for a holiday? They have a particular purpose in mind and whether they have the virus or not they will have nowhere to self isolate for 2 weeks and their business matter is probably due in the next day or so. (because who would travel more than 2 weeks before their meeting!) In my opinion re-infection rates will soar.
As you have probably guessed by now I don't think that they will work well at all. It is ridiculous.
i also agree with this 100 percent if i was in charge i would provide accommodation for those who are travelling for business and have nowhere to stay
I would go so far as to say that business trips are not needed. There is hardly anything you cannot do businesswise with today's technology, zoom, skype, transfer of documents etc.
They need to do something. If u go to France right now u need to isolate 14 days and when u come back 14 days. Who wants to go anywhere when u need to isolate 28 days to have a holiday? Which will last more than a months
Golfforall in the news British airways, ryanair and easy jet have said they will cut jobs because nobody is flying
The Great British people / idiots will continue to cause more spread of that virus than can be done via a few people coming in from countries that have it more under control.
As in all things , our 10% of active know all idiots spoil it for all .
Take Pubs with beer gardens . 90% of clientelle would sit in the beer garden obeying what ever rules applied religiously .
Then in come the other 10% , mainly know it all snowflakes , getting drunk and thinking their childish antics are somehow funny .....
To be fair I think the government know this will happen which is why they are holding back at the moment . As per normal the minority spoil it for the majority.
Depends on what countries I would be able to visit and also what’s the point of having the air bridges if the measures put in place make it so you can’t do much on holiday
Ziad4321 Im on about what you can actually do on holiday with social distancing restrictions
The Government is expected to announce next week Britain’s first air bridges with “low-risk” European destinations, including France, Italy, Spain, Greece and Germany.
The first air bridges to low-risk countries could be in force from July 4, but Mr Shapps said no announcement will be made until June 29 when the quarantine measures will be officially reviewed.
The Government will today reveal a list of up to 60 countries exempt from a UK quarantine, effectively giving the go-ahead for holidays this summer.
The list, expected to be revealed as a 'traffic light system', will also coincide with the loosening of the Foreign Office advice, which has warned against all but essential travel since mid-March.
Spain, Italy, France and Germany are expected to appear on the list, which will be released at lunchtime.
The announcement will mean English holidaymakers returning to the UK from 60 countries will not need to self-isolate for 14 days. The devolved nations are due to set out their own rules at a later date.
The rule change will come into effect from Friday July 10 – not July 6, as previously suggested – with the Transport Secretary Grant Shapps describing it as a major step in "reopening the nation". The Government had originally hoped for a UK-wide approach, but the England-only exemptions come after days of disagreements with Scotland's First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon.
I don't think this is a good idea at all. Clearly the government have no knowledge of people taking a trip to somewhere that will connect with us without having to self isolate even though they have really come from somewhere else, circumnavigating the the self isolating system! We will soon all be infected to the hilt again....
Not interested this year . Anywhere you go places will be closed , those open will have severe restrictions . If you just want to lie on a beach all day it may be OK but not my thing .
And of course you could get caught up in an outbreak and all the attendant hassle getting back - No thanks !
i kind of agree with you i will not be going anywhere this year but only because it is now July and if i wanted to go it would be way to expensive
I think it is needed to not kill the aviation and holiday industry.
14 days isolation is not so appealing.
But there is a higher chance that virus will spread again. i think everyone should be tested who wants to travel.
i definitely agree with that you should definitely have to be tested for this when you come back to the uk
