Thanks very much for sharing this one with us it’s greatly appreciated. A few days in the sun would be most welcome. Wishing all that enter the very best of luck

SimonHickling You are welcome. I am not surprised you need a break form the normal grayness here. It's foggy here today, very dismal! Good luck and keep smiling

Thank you. I know that it seems a long way to go for three nights, but it's the longest that we will leave Mavis nowadays. We went to Lindos for a short break last year and asked our son to stay at our house, which worked really well.

AlysonC I take it you wouldn't ever put her in kennels, it's probably best that she has someone known to her looking after her. How is your son now? Any closer to getting out of hospital? Good luck

tumblespots No, I've only used kennels once many years ago for one of our other dogs, and swore never to do it again. I usually pay for someone she knows to stay at our house or she stays with my sister if she's not holidaying with us. Yes, my son is home and improving slowly thanks. It has frightened him more than anything and knocked his confidence about going out. I'm taking him and our granddaughter to the town centre today by taxi so he doesn't have to get a bus. She needs a few bits of clothing and he will stroll around St Nicholas Market as it's market day there, so things which might interest him.

AlysonC I am delighted to hear that he is at home now, you must be relieved. I am sure you will have a nice day together and hopefully he will soon feel happier going out especially when going to familiar places first.
