After eight years in the making, independent boutique hotel Izza opened its doors in September 2023 and quickly attracted the attention of the city’s creative set. The property comprises seven interconnecting riads incorporating three tranquil courtyards with two swimming pools, a roof terrace – equally perfect for sunbathing and sundowners – and individually designed rooms. In addition to being one of the hottest addresses in town to stay at, it doubles as a ‘museum in the Medina’, housing a substantial collection of more than 300 artworks.

Dinner at Noujoum, Izza’s panoramic rooftop bar and restaurant, is essential during any stay. Taking its name from the home of Willis, settle in under the twinkling stars surrounded by artworks and feast on a spread of small and sharing plates that showcase the best of Morocco. The seasonal menu is crafted using several local suppliers, including vendors in the souk and local organic farms alongside the Izza rooftop garden, and is best enjoyed with specially created cocktails, mocktails and a wine list that includes both local and international options.
