Win tickets to Kathryn Joseph and Neu! Reekie! at EIF
Just answer the simple question below
We've teamed up with Edinburgh International Festival to offer five lucky winners a pair of tickets to each of the following two gigs.
Indie folk singer-songwriter Kathryn Joseph plays Edinburgh Park on Sunday 8 August. Her debut, bones you have thrown me and blood I’ve spilled won Scottish Album of the Year in 2015. The Inverness-born artist creates dreamy melodies, transporting listeners with beguiling soundscapes of piano, harmonium and voice; a visceral, often melancholy blend of poetry and wistful refrains. Hers is a delicate, otherworldly sound, drawing comparisons to Joanna Newsom, Kate Bush or Anohni while remaining utterly unique and conjuring up cinematic visions of Scottish landscapes and raw emotions.
Besides her solo work, Joseph has featured on an album by virtuoso guitarist RM Hubbert, written a soundtrack for a National Theatre of Scotland play and collaborated with James Graham of post-punk band The Twilight Sad on Out Lines, a community storytelling programme in Glasgow’s Easterhouse.
Neu! Reekie! is a prize-winning literary collective and arts production house that has been curating and producing cross-culture shows in and around Scotland and internationally for over ten years. You can also catch them at Edinburgh Park, on Thursday 12 August.
They bring an all-star group to this year’s Festival, headed by Orange Juice front man & Scottish singer/songwriter royalty, Edwyn Collins (with his band). The Orwell Prize-winning author of Poverty Safari, hip-hop artist, Darren McGarvey performs a unique set accompanied by multi-talented Scottish songwriter and producer Becci Wallace, with the exciting poet Victoria McNulty completing the line-up. The night is hosted by prize-winning poets Michael Pedersen and Kevin Williamson.
