The Speech House Hotel – Set in the centre of the Royal Forest of Dean, the hotel is a landmark building, steeped in history dating back to around 1676. Reputed to be the former hunting lodge used by Charles II and Nell Gwyn, it is now a modern-day luxury hotel.
The Speech House is home to the Verderers Court, where judgments have taken place for more than 300 years, and the court still sits four times a year. It also features the Freeminers bar, orangery and gardens, where light snacks, lunches and high teas are served.
Brooks Country House, near Ross-on-Wye, is a stunning Georgian manor house in 13 acres of beautiful grounds surrounding National Trust parkland. All 22 bedrooms of the house, formerly known as Pengethley Manor, have been newly refurbished.
