If you wish for a heavy crop this summer I find bare root plants are the way to do it (plants grown from seed do not crop so heavily in the first year ). Choose from numerous varieties listed on the site . Or wait till plants are being sold in the supermarkets for £2-£3 each ?
Got mine a few days a go , they do look a bit miserable when they arrive (as do all bare root plants ) . Just put them in water for a few days and they quickly perk up ready to plant on into a pot .
I bought 10 each of 3 varieties for a whole summer of Strawbs ( and a 15% multi buy discount (£19.57 for 30 plants , can't say fairer than that )
Early - Honeoye
Main crop- Cambridge Favourite
Late- Florence
As always I have looked at any alternatives before posting as a deal and am confident you will not get a better value deal .
They can of course be grown in the normal fashion or why not try on your wall in a planter https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/deals/18-pocket-wall-planter-ideal-strawberries-899-amazon-
