This kit turns a 26" wheeled bike into a e-bike. You get everything you need except the bike of course and the battery and charger.

The 48V models use a direct drive hub, this is heavy but strong and capable of dealing with high loads. The bike can be configured as a normal legal 250W ebike by connecting two connectors from the control box.

The donor bike needs to have either V brakes or mechanical disc brakes to work with the supplied brake levers that have cut-off safety cables to tell the controller box when you are braking. If you have old style cantilever brakes you'd have to replace them with V brakes.

If you want to use a front hub 1000W motor you should use rigid steel forks and an additional securing kit.

With todays prices this is a good deal although these kits were about £40 cheaper last year.

An old mountain bike if you haven't got one, £30-50
