I'm not a fan of Apple products and generally regard them as appalling value but did watch this video where it showed that if you can accept them as non-upgradeable and the base specification works for you they can actually be very good value in performance terms (non-gaming). The trouble is if you don't accept the base specification the prices just go crazy and ridiculous pricing for choosing a better spec at time of purchase. Of course I've not checked UK pricing it could be uncompetitive with US pricing.
