It’s also great for keeping bugs at bay nicolajaynehend. Hoping when I visit there‘s some left as great price
ivenailedit I have planted a few lavender plants in the front garden to keep the caterpillars away from my box plants and placed a few little bags of dry lavender in the wardrobe to protect the clothes from moths. Fingers crossed!
Quickdealfinder great idea about placing dry lavender in bags for indoors. Will try planting outdoors but not very green fingered
Thank you very much for sharing, this is a great price and lavender plants are very beautiful
This is a great deal for 3 lavender plants, hopefully they will be in stock. Thanks for sharing.
I have been after some lavender plants, and these are a great price for 3 of them. Thank you for posting.
Not familiar with this one. Have only ever grown Hidcote and just planted some Munsted, so would love to have a go with these.
Pretty bomb proof plants usually, so for three quid, well worth a go, as the bees really do love 'em.
Stapmevitals, really wish I had your green fingers, as usually have no luck. Any tips for planting these outside would be most appreciated
Just found this info in an email newsletter, look really vibrant.
Lavandula angustifolia 'Hidcote' The most floriferous of the compact lavenders, with purple-blue flowers. Incredibly reliable and rich in pollen and nectar for much of the summer so bees and butterflies love it.
They prefer full sun, and drought tolerant. Don't plant in cold damp spots. Also wasps like them as well as bees and butterflies, so i wouldn't plant near entrances or seating! ivenailedit
Mandie09 brill as I really need all the advice I can get. Great tip about avoiding entrances & seating
Plant in full sun. Dig over the area and incorporate some grit is a good idea, as they love a good amount of water, but not so the soil is waterlogged, and don't actually add any additional feed, as this encourages the green to grow, rather than the flowers. ivenailedit Water them in well, don't let them dry out, stand back and enjoy!
Stapmevitals brill thanks again. I will give your suggestions a go. Always scared of overwatering, but seems no need to be. Hoping that I will find them in Lidl
Strange stunted lavender plants from Lidl. No growth on any of the six plants after one month! Dissappointing.
Found the same with one bought months ago Lavant. Didn't last 2 months. Thought it was our fault, but obvs not
