Does anyone have these? Are they easy to keep ontop off? Are they fine to plant straight into the ground or put in plant pots? 
JaneJane1970 I have the acer purpureum (burgundy leaves) and it grows great by leaving it alone, though pruning is a must...
Also got the Atropurpureum , very easy to keep we just left it alone! Stunning in autumn and adds shade to your garden in the summer
the deep burgundy one looks lovely, i have a cherry blossom tree out my back and its stunning when it produces the pink flowers.
I would love to have these, but l find them very difficult to grow.
At this price, they are not too bad, but l could not face another three dying on me.
(I'm fairly sure that they hate direct sunlight and wind, which l tried my best to give them.)
But don't let my ineptitude put anyone off : give it a go, as they are superb little trees.

I love Acers and have a few in pots in my rear garden. I have just purchased these three for my front garden which I'm hoping I can sort out this year. Small fence around and stones laid so I have no grass to worry about, then pots scattered here and there.
My mum is able to grow in ground and pots but not full sun , nor windy corner . Mine baked in the sun . I then brought one placed in a shady corner and it is doing great sadly no one can see it .
