Has anyone done this deal ? Tempted to try this for more content especially for HBO hmmmm advice people ?
TickleYourFancy you don't want a VPN unless you watch Netflix on a computer. For TV viewing get a smart DNS service.
The only thing I would use a VPN service for would be subscribing to Netflix from a cheaper country
hiwend easiness really. Smart DNS works on any TV where as the VPN you will need to find a TV with VPN app (Android maybe). SMART DNS doesn't throttle your speed like a VPN, you get much closer to your ISP actual speed limit so 4K streaming is no problem.
Basically a VPN is heavily encrypted & mason purpose is for privacy to keep your activity hidden, SMART DNS is to trick something into thinking your geo location is somewhere else in the world so you get faster speeds.
I use my VPN for subscribing to stuff like cheap i.e Netflix Turkey £3 month, YouTube premium £2.80 month, xbox live £20 year.
Smart DNS for changing the TV country location and socks5 proxy for torrents
Looks good, I've been thinking about getting a VPN and the money back guarantee makes it alot more appealing. Thanks for sharing
ProtonVPN still offers a free option? Thought they had removed it.
I didn't like it too much, but it's still one of the better free VPNs. I use Windscribe daily and couldn't recommend PureVPN and the likes.
There's a reason they need to be sponsored.
PhilipMarc Maybe its an occasional offer. I did my account and my mother's account for her firestick at different times and was free on both occasions. Works better for her than me as you she has very fast fibre broadband and I have slower broadband but still I have no problem watching anything I want to not that I watch that much to be honest. I think the free servers are all in the Netherlands. The app's either windows or android are very stable I find.
See They will probably withdraw the free service at some point but for the moment might as well use them.
Sometimes, not always.
Windscribe and Proton are a genuine experience for free/paid users without a catch.
I have this service and it's ok for the money, does the job. Better services out there but much more expensive
Tomp23 do you mind me asking is it hard to set up as I'm a women I can multi task but anything technical forget it ... also can you get the uk channels
Pppathome helps browse other countries it pretends your device is in another country afaik
Fyi people - you can access Netflix for whatever country your vpn says you're in. You can even add shows to your list. But, YOU CANNOT WATCH ANYTHING. Netflix literally says "you appear to be using..." something something "please turn off to view selected" blah blah blah.
VPN's are great for downloading from sites without virgin/sky/plusnet whatever, from reporting you or streaming from illegal sites. But you cannot use a vpn to watch HBO or Netflix or any other legitimate pay monthly TV subscription service
devfr by all means, but don't get upset when Netflix doesn't let you play anything. But tbh, if you're gonna try to stream in a country you're not allowed to, which is illegal anyway. Why not just go the whole hog and use the vpn as it was supposed to be used and stream from one of the multiple stream sites that have all the shows, not just those limited to the selection of whatever country of Netflix you're thinking of streaming from, for which you're still gonna be paying a subscription fee for
Addsey whatever buddy. Just telling you how it is. If you don't believe me then buy it. Waste your money. But don't come back here whinging when it doesn't let you watch any of the US Netflix shows
DylanMoore I've been watching American Netflix for years, like I said it only doesn't work if you use a crap service and there's absolutely nothing illegal about it but your welcome to show me the legislation...
