I'm a big fan of Speyside whiskies, and the Aberlour 12 Year Old is a fantastic example. It's a beautifully balanced and smooth single malt with a lovely sherry influence. On the nose, you get notes of rich dried fruits, vanilla, and a hint of spice. The taste is equally impressive, with flavors of sweet apple, toffee, and a creamy, nutty character. The finish is long, warm, and very satisfying.
