I've never bought off Ali express. Is it safe . And are there extra costs for delivery and customs?
PaulWalker not sure I know the calculate taxes at checkout but if you spend £15 or less then you don't pay anything extra anyway when it arrived to the UK
Hana12 I believe this has changed ?? Things I’ve bought recently under £15 have attracted the tax immediately before purchase . It’s done it quite a few times when I have made purchases under £15 . I believe the Govt changed the law last year and the seller has to collect the tax due on each item .
PaulWalker I buy a lot from Ali and so to answer honestly, It's "safe", majority of listing are legit (always check the reviews!) and in the case of problems there is dispute system that you can use to try get your money back. Had no issue 97% of the time. P&p depends on the item but is typically free. Tax is included in price now so I don't think you pay customs but please double check to see if this is true.
I used to love aliexpress, but sometimes now find it more expensive than ebay. Especially now they add tax to your order. It doesn't seem worth it given the long postage times and the hit and miss nature of you actually likithe product. 9 times out of 10 you can get the same item on ebay for a similar cost and have the protection of ebay, returns within the UK if your not satisfied.
KellyMason25301 true that but i always negotiate with the seller to cut taxes and it works sometimes. Worth a shot.
KellyMason25301 this is true and I've been using ali for a long time, before they ruined the search algorithm and included UK tax. With the inclusion of tax and difficulty of finding items, it's actually easier to get things from ebay and amzon
Make sure you check the final price I thought I bought something for 9p and it was £3.41
I had bad experience with this website so I am out. I rather buy from eBay and Amazon
I've bought off Aliexpress previously but not anymore, the chinese sellers have learned they can charge the same as Amazon and make more money. I wanted to order a few things last Christmas from them but seeing as Amazon was the same price decided not to, better refund service with Amazon.

Used to buy loads of them then at one point when i hadnt ordered for a few months they started adding a tax. You don't know anything about it till you go to order. I still have the app but haven't ordered for a couple of years because i could go on ebay and buy summat for not much more and get quicker delivery. Ordering from ali used to take weeks but now you checkout the dates and it's months. I have however bought two xiaomi phones over the years that came in a couple of weeks. Have a problem with summat and CS is a nightmare
Can't see any 1p deals. When I click the link it takes me to a coupon page and that's it. No sale or anything.

A very confusing website. Maybe I'm having "a blonde moment", but looking at previous comments from others - I tend to agree - I will order via Amazon.
Be very, very careful !!! Taxes and shipping can be confusing at best and forget returns . Used to be marginal value at best - nowadays certainly not worth it . Want tat ? Get it from EBay or Amazon . Certainly surprised that Latest Deals would allow this post ?

I understand your business model - Latest Deals staff "refreshing " deals and pinning them to the top of the popular deals every day . If that is the way you wish to conduct your business then I am not impressed - but it is after all your site .
I have been barred many times by your "moderators !" for stating my honest opinions but as my only reason for being a member is to help fellow members - I can only give an intelligent opinion- based on experience .
Should the Latest Deals moderators have a remit to protect our less savvy members - or not ?
There looks to be some pretty cheap items on AliExpress, bit of a gamble on quality but life is a gamble, will take a look.

I always do a price comparison with Ali Express and Amazon, With Ali X I see how much it is with postage and tax and delivery times, if its only a pound or two more on Amazon I tend to buy there because you can get it much faster.
Ive had a few problems with sellers on Ali Express increasing their prices before shipping and expecting me to pay the difference.
The little torches are brilliant. I think I may have to get another as I'll be gutted if I misplace mine

Going to have a look at these deals. Since Brexit it has gotten more expensive to buy from AliExpress, but sometimes it is still worth it.

In the last 12 months AliExpress have got very crafty at suggesting items are much cheaper than they actually are . It’s obviously an attempt to pull you in and then bang , they got you really interested only then at checkout do they wap you with the true price of the item . It’s such a waste of your time. Also I have had missing items and the seller is not interested . It’s a pain these days
I remember the kids used to love this toy. Fascinated when it walked down the stairs. Kept them amused for ages
