You’ll stay in a newly refurbished King or Twin room in the Main House, with Cole & Son wallpaper and antique furniture. Spacious bathrooms boast Hansgrohe power showers and some come with roll top baths. Finishing touches include pocket-sprung mattresses, plus goose down pillows and duvets.

Dining

Local produce forms the backbone of the Brooks menu, and you can expect satisfying dishes such as Hereford rib-eye steak with hand-cut chips and garlic butter. You’ll take your full English breakfast in the grand library-turned-dining room, and it’s worth opting for dinner too, as it showcases beautifully presented modern British cuisine, using local fresh produce wherever possible.

Location

Brooks Country House sits four miles from Ross-on-Wye, not far from the cathedral city of Hereford. You can easily access the M50 from here, and it’s only an hour from Birmingham, Cardiff and Bristol. Drive to London in around two and a half hours, while half an hour away, you'll find Hay-on-Wye, famous for its literary festival.

Cheltenham Race Course is also only 30 minutes away. Those after more rural pursuits can indulge in canoeing and cycling in the Wye Valley or hike along the Herefordshire Trail. Other local attractions include Goodrich Castle and the pretty village of Symonds Yat.
