GameSeek will be having a pre-order sale of the Nintendo Switch (Neon) for £198.50. This is an OK deal, not a big save, though.
I doubt the NES will get much cheaper prior to launch, as worldwide demand far exceeds supply.
My guess is the best discounts will be via bundles of games and accessories alongside the console.
I suggest people should treat GameSeek’s promise to offer the Nintendo Switch (Neon) for £198.50 with caution. Whilst £80 off is certainly a great offer, GameSeek is one of the smaller game retailers and their stock allocation will be correspondingly small. (Their previous allocation was less than 1,000).
The bottom line is GameSeek are likely to sell out within minutes when they send out their NES Stock Alert.
I believe most peoples’ chances of securing an NES at £198.50 price are pretty slim, and this marketing by GameSeek aimed at creating awareness for their business, and building up their prospect list (you need to create an account before GameSeek will send you the Stock Alert). There's probably no harm signing up for the stock alert though - you never know you could be lucky.
More notes of caution about the GameSeek offer, here: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/02/gameseek_states_itll_keep_selling_nintendo_switch_for_p198_50_up_to_release
Dread GameSeek offers payment through Paypal and it's how I always pay so I'm covered. I've been trying to get in contact with GameSeek to return a product and they have never replied back so I just had to open a claim to return it.
Using the website for CEO emails is great too as it speeds up the process because contacting Paypal through phone or their official website are pretty useless and take too long to answer.
And yeah, the £10 off a Joy-Con/Pro Controller while the base console is £279.99 isn't much of a deal but might be decent for someone who wants it either way.
