Our black boy & his Naughty Torti sister love to catch mice & rats.Had to replace 2 Guinea Pigs after our Torti got her paws on 3 of the Guinea Pigs from over the back garden.To be fair it was an OPEN run they were in as the owners have it like that in their country.
I once found Torti chasing a QUAIL up & down our lawn & a neighbour's ginger cat helping her!!

JoTarpley Maybe if the lady over the back garden DIDN'T have an OPEN run like they do in her country her Guinea Pigs with still be alive ..I bought her two more, when I passed her gate a few month later & asked how they were I was told the Guinea Pigs were DEAD,a neighbour also told me that that they lady had reversed into her cat killing it...
Our cats are just doing.what.comes naturally although we might not like it...
