What is Clintons?

Clintons, formerly branded as Clinton Cards, is a UK-based chain of stores founded in 1968 by Don Lewin. The company is known for selling greeting cards, together with soft toys and related gift products. Their first shop was launched in in Epping Essex and by 1988 they grew to 77 shops. By the summer of of 1994 the business comprised 277 shops. In 995, the company acquired Hallmark Cards as well as 112 shops from Carlton Cards. They also purchased the Birthdays chain of card and party shops in 2004, but placed the subsidiary into administration in 2009, subsequently buying back 140 of the 332 stores.

In 2012, 397 stores were acquired by American Greetings based in the USA and currently own Clintons. A full rebrand was put in place including where Clintons replaced Clinton Cards to denote the fact that they are a destination for all of life’s special moments and occasions. The customer experience entails a fresh new range of cards, gifts, gift wrap and stationery items. A new logo was needed to re-energise and reinvigorate Clintons. A refurbishment of all the stores was also put into action. Today, they have about 80 stores all over the UK, including Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland as well as a transactional website.

They use a courier service by UK Mail for gifts, wrap, invitations, calendars and diaries for most UK post codes, Northern Ireland, Southern Ireland, Europe and Rest of the World. This service can also take up to 3 working days (Outside of the UK will vary).

How do I return an item to Clintons?

If not entirely satisfied with your purchase, return it in a saleable condition within 28 days with your receipt for an exchange or full refund. This policy excludes food products and electronic services. You can return your item quoting your order reference number to the following address:
