About this product
Navigate the morning commute through traffic, then explore wooded trails when the weekend arrives. The Cross FXT700 Mountain Bike suits riders who want one capable setup for both tarmac and terrain. Its alloy frame delivers a responsive feel that's light enough for urban riding yet built to handle off-road demands. Front suspension smooths uneven surfaces, whilst disc brakes bring reliable stopping control. This bike supports adults seeking versatile riding without needing multiple setups.
It's designed for riders with an inside leg measurement suited to its frame, with wheels and geometry that balance agility and stability. Shimano's 21-speed gearing with EZ-Fire shifters offers control across climbs and flat stretches. Disc brakes front and rear provide stopping power in wet or dry conditions. The alloy frame keeps handling manageable. It arrives mostly assembled with straightforward final setup.

Extremely low quality suspension fork, 3x drivetrain with wobbly freewheel and basic single piston mechanical disc brakes. A very high maintenance and heavy bike that is mountain bike style rather than being a mountain bike. The Carrera Subway is on offer I think for £276 at Halfords and is a far superior bike for general use and is a low maintenance design. That would be a far better option. I realise it is over £50 more but that extra would be well worth paying. I personally would avoid this bike unless you are someone who likes repairing and servicing bicycles all the time and wants to do it before every ride. The front suspension fork typically has no replacement seals available and if you leave it out in the rain will let in water and seize and has no beneficial effect anyway as non-adjustable.
