Debenhams in Administration - Spend Gift Cards Now on Top Deals
Debenhams has gone into administration. It says it is trading as per usual, but if you have a gift card you should spend it now.

If you're spending over £100, use a credit card. Then, if something goes wrong you can claim Section 75 consumer protection support.
If you don't have a credit card, use a Visa, Mastercard or Amex debit card. These companies have internal guidelines saying they will help you if your claim is agreed - but this is not a legal obligation.

Im actually devasted!! I love Debenhams i have £14 in vouchers from my store card can I use these still I waned to keep them until June
How sad! Thanks for sharing - I have given Christmas gift cards for fussy family members so will remind them to use them.
I thought they said they were still going to honor them as have a new owner, it's so very confusing lol xx
I just checked, because I know the cards are provided by Newday. This is what I found - "NewDay Ltd provide credit and store cards for the following retail partners: Amazon, Thomson, Debenhams, House of Fraser, Laura Ashley, Topshop, Topman, Burton, Wallis, Miss Selfridge, Evans, Dorothy Perkins and Outfit. NewDay Ltd's consumer brands include the aqua, marbles and Opus branded range of credit cards.".
So even if poor old Debenhams does vanish (don't think they will, but let's see...) the card provider should keep our credit cards going, alongside all the other retailers' cards.
