Cant believe we could be losing another big brand store. I’ve been going to Debenhams for most of my life (49yrs) and never thought it would go under once never mind twice!!!! My son worked with them when he was 16yrs as a weekend worker and enjoyed working for them, and the other staff where so nice. Glasgow is going to be bare of the long running big brands at this rate!!!! Sad times
Unfortunately looks like the 80s model of a "department store" is no longer feasible 20 years later. Especially when the stores close an hour before people finish work. Our shopping centre in Poole has a Debenhams and had a BHS too it was well connected to the high street yet everything closes at 5pm. While the general working hours are 9 to 5... I had no chance to do any shopping there apart from the weekend (and weekends are for family and other things planned, not to mention being exhausted after the week of work). We've been shopping for clothes online instead or I've taken kids to asda and tesco to get clothes because they are open in the evenings. When kids are after school and I am after work. They can either change their operating hours or they will be gone soon.
Emma I'm not sure if you've copied pasted incorrectly or just made an error but it's worth clarifying in that blurb about using a credit card - it needs to be a minimum £100 total spend for Section 75 protection. Maybe just alter it to "single item over £100".
