Will waste my breath no further on these pieces of wildly inaccurate Chinese Tat .
If anyone is still foolish enough to think they are in the least bit accurate then they have my sympathy, as do the NHS 111 operators who will be flooded with calls should folks actually believe the readings they give .
This looked really good but after reading the reviews I don't think I will bother wasting my money
TEST THESE WHEN YOUR ORDER ARRIVES!!! Take several readings on something very hot that you know is hot (like a preheated oven, a turned on radiator) and another several readings on something you know is very cold (freezer, ice cream) to check the extremes, if the reading does not seem probably, send it back immediately and ask for a refund.
You need to test them against a known temperature - they will show hot and cold (mostly !) . Mine (a DIY one with no pretence at accuracy ) shows me the parts of my radiator that are hot and the part on the bottom that is cooler ie sludge build up ) point it at my forehead and its 33 C -so I am clinically dead !
Check your temp with an old style thermometer ( should be about 37C ) then with one of these "toy" thermometers , then slap yourself on the wrist for wasting your money when you realise how totally inaccurate it is .
I found that people who buy them, do not actually have any other thermometer at home - that's the problem. Golfforall
My friends dad came down with covid and when he said he was feeling a bit off an hot i told them to isolate him and check his temperature. And his mum was like "we don't have anything to check the temperature with" so the dad spent two weeks trapped in the guest room and everyone quarantined but no one else came down with it.
cookiewithcarro Well you could never confirm temp with one of these . Normal in the gob one from Boots £9.99 . At least you can trust the reading .
Yes, for home use I would definitely go for regular mouth or under arm (preferably under arm, I feel like the mouth ones are a thing from the past). This is a gadget really, but much quicker for hospital use. Golfforall
Like you do, I also use mine for taking object temperatures, it has a separate setting for that, usually walls because we had issues with patchy insulation. cookiewithcarro
