Ramp your mood up a notch as you head to the infamous city of good times, Las Vegas, to kick off your USA tour. You'll be staying at The Linq Hotel & Casino, slap bang in the middle of the strip. Spend your time thrill-seeking at the hotel's casino, catching a Cirque de Soleil show, preening and pampering at the hotel spa and tantalising your taste buds with different cuisine each night. Don't forget to take a ride on the hotel's monumental High Roller – the world's tallest observation wheel, offering some awe-inspiring views over this dazzling desert metropolis.

Next, you’ll pick up your hire car and head on a jaunt to Sonesta ES Suites Flagstaff. Flagstaff, Arizona, is a city that poses as a gateway to the impressive San Francisco Peaks – the highest mountains in Arizona (and there are a lot of mountains in Arizona) and the famous Route 66, as well as being a hop skip and jump away from the Grand Canyon. Be sure to stop at a quintessential Route 66 diner and soak up one last dose of classic Americana.

Head back on the road to your next bucket-list ticking sight: Lake Powell. For your two-night stay at Best Western Plus at Lake Powell, you’ll be overlooking the Glen Canyon Rim and Lake Powell, a reservoir with an impressive maze of canyons where you can partake in just about any watersports imaginable or simply relax on the sand dunes.

Then, you’ll embark on a dusty drive to St George, staying at Wingate By Wyndham. Here, you’re surrounded by a trifecta of incredible nature reserves – Snow Canyon State Park, Sand Hollow State Park and the incredible Zion National Park, as well as picturesque 19th-century colonial architecture. Head to the airport to drop off your rental car and catch your flight back to the UK. Good to know
