Arrive in North Island's Auckland, and kick-off your holiday as you mean to go on with a full-day tour. Discover the delights of the city with a visit to Harbour Bridge, Queen Street and Auckland Domaine - the fabulous city park. You'll pass through the charming village of Parnell, to explore historical buildings and chic shopping spots, and take a ferry ride across Waitemata Harbour to Waiheke Island, which boasts beautiful beaches and fruitful vineyards. Sample one of New Zealand's best exports, with a visit to three of the most prestige wineries on the island.

Just when you thought it couldn't get much better, prepare for some serious jaw-dropping sights in Rotura. You'll take another full-day tour of the region, with a fun visit to the famous The Hobbit movie set before something extra special - the Waitomo Glow-worm Caves. Like something out of another fantasy movie scene, you'll venture into vast underground caves lit from within by thousands of tiny glow-worms. Next morning, visit Te Puia to experience bubbling mud pools and explosive geysers, as well as visiting Te Puia's woodcarving and weaving schools to learn about Maori art forms and how they are being kept alive here.

After exploring Wellington, a compact city that sits favourably on the waterfront and has beautiful beaches and charming timber buildings, you'll continue to Queenstown to enjoy a region which lies on the shores of the South Island’s Lake Wakatipu. Set against the dramatic Southern Alps, beautiful landscapes can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. It's onwards next to Queenstown, to marvel at the spectacular Bowen Falls and jagged Mitre Peak on a spectacular fjord cruise at Milford Sound. You'll travel to the foothills of New Zealand's highest mountain, Mount Cook, to enjoy lunch in the exquisite surroundings of the Alps before spending two final nights in Christchurch, to learn about the major rebuild after the devastating Canterbury earthquakes of 2011.
