PRS’s SE range have been a massive success since they were released a decade ago. The ethos is simple: to make high quality, well made Far-Eastern models of some of PRS’s most famous and successful designs. These are an affordable alternative for guitarists on a budget who still want that great PRS look, feel and sound. These great guitars represent excellent value and with such an expansive range, it won’t be hard to find a model that you love!
The Standard 24 is one of the most affordable models in the PRS roster but don’t make the mistake of underestimating it: this is one serious piece of guitar! With a body and neck made of Mahogany, this set neck rock machine sustains exceptionally. The Wide Thin neck profile, double octave neck and 25” scale length mark this guitar out as one for the lead players! Soloing is free and easy on the Standard 24 plus it has a tremolo on a quality far higher than the guitar’s price point may suggest.
The pickups are the same 85/15 ’S’ models as the dearer Custom 24 models and a Push/Pull control on the tone knob allows a selection of single coil tones to complement the smooth chunk of the humbuckers.
This particular model has a most unusual finish, not seen since the late 1980s. The Multi-Foil look has a pleasingly Expressionist look and is certainly going to stand out from the usual crowd! This metallic finish is a tribute to PRS's 'Metal' range from the company's early days and it is pretty spectacular when you see it in the flesh under some lights!
£499 ! Terrible deal - the supposed price £825 has been inflated to make it appear a good deal - the same guitar (just a different colour) can be found with a RRP of £475 discounted to £449 elsewhere.https://www.livelouder.co.uk/product/prs-2018-se-standard-24-vintage-cherry/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAsJfhBRCaARIsAO68ZM7NMxUrdcqqZi6SdF80_yAztqudYfasXJ_p8FKxdoIIoEmXwQe0WP4aAi80EALw_wcB (that saves £50 compared to special deal)
Possibly even cheaper if you shop around. These are not top end guitars.
EDIT a few minutes later - didn't have to look too far here's one (January sale) at £399 (inc Free Delivery) https://www.andertons.co.uk/prs-se-standard-24-in-translucent-blue-se-st4tb
Keep looking - I'm sure there will be better deals
You cannot compare prices of a guitar in different colours, that's not how it works.
The same with cars; different colours command different prices.
You've linked the PRS 2018 SE Standard 24 Vintage Cherry & Translucent Blue.
This deal was posted 8 days ago and is for the PRS SE Standard 24 Multi-Foil 2018.
If you want a high end guitar of course you would purchase a Gibson.
jakemoss You obviously know as much about guitars as you do about other things. I (an ex professional guitarist) wouldn't consider a present day Gibson that's perhaps why they've gone bankrupt.
There is no list price difference between different coloured guitars (the cost of paint is the same) and most guitarists wouldn't consider using such a garish instrument as this one.
davidstockport I really appreciate all you do around here. You’re a huge asset to latestdeals.
