I give up, what's the difference between this one and the blink xt2 model? I am literally waiting on my Amazon order arriving any minute now for the xt2 model and now wondering if I should have waited for this model but not sure what the difference is? Any info gratefully received please
Johnny thanks for that, I appreciate your reply. I found the same info and some other pages yesterday after setting up my xt2 system. The new one has the same viewing angle and definition. The new one is slightly more expensive.
The new one weighs less and has the option of adding a battery pack to the back of the unit so that the battery life could be extended to up to 4 years instead of 2 years. There's mention of privacy option but not sure what that entails. And they seem to be pushing a paid for cloud service/subscription in 2021 and beyond for the new one, although the new module unit has the option of inserting a 64GB memory card so theoretically you don't need to use the paid for storage.
Apparently the older blinks are not compatible with the new module in so much as you can't save to the memory card. Another difference is that the new ones have the option of simply being notified of motion without recording but I really want it to record and notify anyway which is what xt2 seems to do.
Can you tell I'm still trying to convince myself I've bought the right package?! Hate it when this happens
I tell you what though, I nearly lost my thumbs trying to open the damn things to put the batteries in! They will definitely be weatherproof and I hope the batteries last long enough for my thumbs to recover
