Hey Clockface

Hey Clockface is an Elvis Costello album listed at £10.82. It was recorded across Helsinki, Paris and New York, then mixed by Sebastian Krys in Los Angeles. The sessions include intimate solo recordings and a rapid Paris session that shaped much of the album’s character.

• Recording locations: Suomenlinnan Studio (Helsinki), Les Studios Saint Germain (Paris) and New York.
• Notable sessions: In February 2020 Costello recorded solo takes of "No Flag", "Hetty O'Hara Confidential" and "We Are All Cowards Now" with engineer Eetü Seppälä in Helsinki.
• Paris session: Costello sang live on the studio floor and directed from the vocal booth, cutting nine songs in two days with minimal discussion — much was spontaneous.
• Production and mixing: Credited as "An Elvis Costello & Sebastian Krys Production"; mixed by Sebastian Krys (Los Angeles). The pair previously worked together on the Grammy-winning album Look Now.
• Extra: A motion‑picture for "We Are All Cowards Now" by Eamon Singer & Arlo McFurlow features evocative imagery (flowers, pistols, smoke, tombstones).
