Same totally inaccurate Chinese Tat , with various different brand stamps . When will LD members learn ! I despair of the common sense and judgement of members . Never rely on one of these !

Hey, no point wrecking your nerves over this really.. Some of them will be fine for a shorter or longer period of time. Even the good quality ones are made in China... its just whether there is a company with good reputation keeping an eye on it.

cookiewithcarro I'm afraid they are dangerous if you rely on one . Just because they "look" like a clinically certified one doesn't mean they have the same accuracy . Chances are it will tell you that you have a fever when you haven't or tell you you are fine when you are not .

The most stupid comments like "my dentist /doctor /restaurant / airport /hospital has one of these "! shows how dangerous ignorance is ! The ones they have cost £100s and are regularly calibrated . Want an accurate "one of these" ? then fork out the thick end of £100 from a reputable UK seller like Boots .

Surely the fact that this Chinese "Tat " is being sold by at least 30 different Chinese tat merchants on Amazon (with widely varying RRPs) should be a great big flashing red light to even the most intellectually challenged ?

Golfforall as we can see it is not a red flag if it's a "bargain"... ours was given by a pharmaceutical rep (long before the whole thing started) and is very good, i just checked and it retails at around £60 (not the newest model). looks like this, can recommend. Image

ha, I asked mum about it and she said grandpa bought one that looks like the gun one from a pharmacy for around £16 and it was absolute crap - that happened long before the corona hassle as well, which leads me to believe some cheap junk will just be junk.

Golfforall it can be dangerous if they let people in based on a reading that always shows 36.5, 36.6 or 36.7, but let's be honest - how many people in a virus-spreading mode actually has higher temperature? i find this to be largely unreliable method of screening in the first place. one that should not be focused on so much.

mandatory masks should go first, to limit the spreads of particles from those who may have it, then 2m distancing, not changing to 1.5 or 1m as they please. and with pubs - let them put tables outside, even if there are some boundary regulations, it's summer.

cookiewithcarro i agree some thermometers can be bad but most of them are really good and just becuase they are made in china does not mean that they are bad quality. iphones are made in china but they are very good quality
