Jim Beam to me is the Forgotten sleeping giant in the Bourbon renaissance they’ve marketed cocktail Bourbon instead of good whiskey. This is good whisky, on the nose I’m getting brown sugar, oak, and dried raisins & dates, it’s a dry spicy Bourbon not as punchy as a Wild Turkey 101 but pleasantly smooth on the finish.
I’m also getting a dry woody smell like a walk in the woods in July could be the long lost barrels that’s stored in the hot Kentucky summers.
The Beam brand could really shake up the Bourbon market if they wanted too, and go top shelf but they don’t, they have generations of master distillers that’s been past down from the beginning, now that’s some whiskey sommelier training.
