I was wondering that too! I'm still using my old original Kindle and I can't see the difference, other than this actually looks better 
Tom yes, I have an old original kindle and I'm thinking this would be an upgrade? 
Tom I just watched a review on YouTube. It seems to be exactly the same as the Kindle 2019, only with a kids profile activated, but, you can create regular profiles too! This also comes with a 2 year warranty not 1, no ads, a free cover, AND if you compare the stats, the kid's one comes with 8GB storage, not 4 like the regular one... also comes with 12 months of some kind of kid's book club with free books and magazines... no use to me but the other stuff is!
