Having been to Marrakesh and also driven in a lot of other countries, there is not a hope in hell I would hire a car there. Aside from there seeming to be no real rules on the road, scams are rife as well. The good thing is because everything is very cheap there you can do day trips for very low (I went to the waterfalls for a day trip in 2019 for like £20) and also taxi fares are cheap as long as you don't get scammed.
