No way is it. You go on the Microsoft store for games, and they are usually at least 20% more expensive, especially if you hunt around for a good deal. I got red dead redemption 2 on disc when it first came out for just over £40 yet to buy the digital version they wanted nearly £60@Sambabyof4

WARNING - it’s an all digital Xbox, meaning it has no method to play disks. GAME sells the same for £129.99, still a good deal if that’s what you’re looking for

Most of my xbox one games are on disc and still play some 360 and original xbox games on mine. I only have the first gen 1080p model but doesn't the normal Xbox One S have 4k output with a ultra-hd bluray drive. So a huge number of benefits to having an optical drive plus sometimes you can get games much cheaper as discs and if you complete the game or get bored of it quickly you can pretty much get most of your money back, ebay etc. Just seems a false economy to me.

Game Pass is a subscription, so you sign up for it and then download any game you want.
It's very convenient just got plug and play without buying tons of games and they're all under one subscription. Plus, even the standard price is great for all that you get. MumOfThree
