Morrisons Launch 1KG 'Too Good to Waste' Fruit and Vegetable Box for Just £1

Available from Morrisons
£1
Comment43

Morrisons is launching a one kilogram Too Good to Waste box this week to sell fruit and vegetables that are at the end of their shelf life, but are still perfectly good to eat.

The boxes are cheaper than the £1.50 ones launched by Lidl in August

Boxes will cost just £1 and are available in every Morrisons store nationwide.

Too Good to Waste boxes will contain a wide variety of fruit, vegetables and salad and the launch is the latest move in Morrisons’

campaign against food waste.

The fruit and veg could come from any of the varieties Morrisons sells.

Each piece has been ‘condition checked’ by a Morrisons greengrocer to ensure that they are still of good eating quality

This is a brilliant idea for everyone , a lot of people struggle to have a healthy diet as it's too expensive to buy fresh fruit and veg so something like this makes it much more affordable and will also save on so much food waste. Hopefully other supermarkets follow this too.

What a great idea, i feel supermarkets are the ones being too picky for fruit/vegetables than the consumers. As long as they are edible and not bruised, im not bothered. This is great, thank you for sharing 🙂

Thank you for sharing this. I was there last week wish they had it then. It's such a great idea to reduce the food waste. I think lidl tried to do something similar but it didn't work well in my local store not sure about the others.

Good idea but don't claim that they are cheaper than Lidl.

Lidl is £1.50 for 5kg making it 30p per kilo.

This is clearly £1 per kilo.

Depending on what's in the box it may end up cheaper buying it fresh 🤔 £1 per kilo a pretty high price for most fruits and vegetables.
