Morrisons is launching a one kilogram Too Good to Waste box this week to sell fruit and vegetables that are at the end of their shelf life, but are still perfectly good to eat.
The boxes are cheaper than the £1.50 ones launched by Lidl in August
Boxes will cost just £1 and are available in every Morrisons store nationwide.
Too Good to Waste boxes will contain a wide variety of fruit, vegetables and salad and the launch is the latest move in Morrisons’
campaign against food waste.
The fruit and veg could come from any of the varieties Morrisons sells.
Each piece has been ‘condition checked’ by a Morrisons greengrocer to ensure that they are still of good eating quality

These are such a great idea to help reduce food waste. Will go so fast in our store
That's a fantastic idea. I rarely shop in Morrisons but If I do I always top up on their cheap wonky fruit & veg, which are great value! Thank you for sharing
This is great I don't shop at Morrisons regularly but I do go once awhile this is a good idea...
Fantastic idea. I don’t very often shop at Morrisons as I don’t drive but if I’m ever near one I’ll def look out for these. Thanks for sharing .
I rarely shop in Morrison's but this is a great deal. I love their wonky boxes. They're such a great deal
This is a brilliant idea for everyone , a lot of people struggle to have a healthy diet as it's too expensive to buy fresh fruit and veg so something like this makes it much more affordable and will also save on so much food waste. Hopefully other supermarkets follow this too.
What a great idea, i feel supermarkets are the ones being too picky for fruit/vegetables than the consumers. As long as they are edible and not bruised, im not bothered. This is great, thank you for sharing
That's an excellent idea save us money plus give Morrison some money instead of disposing it. Thanks very much for sharing
This is very good for Morrisons. I will make my way to the store soon and see if I can find this deal there.. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing this. I was there last week wish they had it then. It's such a great idea to reduce the food waste. I think lidl tried to do something similar but it didn't work well in my local store not sure about the others.
this is a fantastic idea they get money for what they we would throw away we get a great deal and save it from landfill too wish I lived near enough
Such a good idea for anyone struggling to afford fruit and veg. Could all be made into a healthy soup
I went to Morrisons today but couldn't find this and asked the lady there and she said she didn't even hear
This is such a brilliant idea! So glad Morrisons is helping towards less waste and helping poorer families
I do hope these are available in all stores, as will be looking for it when I do my weekly shop!
Good idea but don't claim that they are cheaper than Lidl.
Lidl is £1.50 for 5kg making it 30p per kilo.
This is clearly £1 per kilo.
Depending on what's in the box it may end up cheaper buying it fresh £1 per kilo a pretty high price for most fruits and vegetables.
