A mesmerising city-to-desert Morocco holiday, with a night in a luxury Sahara camp and a thrilling camel ride – including breakfast, two dinners and all travel
Discover the diverse landscapes of mesmerising Morocco with this city-to-sand escape that takes in village life along the way. Starting with a night in Marrakech, you’ll take a superbly scenic drive into the Atlas Mountains to reach your next destination, visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou en route.
Then, you’ll stop in Dades – a gorge-carved landscape that offers some simply spectacular scenery, where a glimpse of local life sees men herding camels and goats. It’s then onwards to the Sahara Desert, tackling the sand-swept dunes in a fully-equipped 4x4 vehicle, before an hour-long camel ride to Riad Madu’s tented camp. Here, you'll sleep under the impressive canopy of stars that only the desert’s vast darkness can reveal.
The next day, you’ll travel to Riad Madu’s main building, to spend a day at leisure. Why not opt to explore the dunes by quad bike, or simply relax by the outdoor pool in the riad’s tranquil setting. Finally, you'll spend your last night (or three, if you want to max out your holiday) back in Marrakech, where you can visit the local souks and UNESCO-listed Jamaâ El Fna Square – just a 15-minute walk from your riad.
