I suppose it is a matter of choice really. All of the supermarkets store the eggs at room temperature but when you buy a fridge, it usually comes with an egg holder. I actually bought myself a large (always buy boxes containing more than 6 eggs) egg storage holder from Aldi as I have the room in my fridge (not too much available kitchen side space available now for me, what with the microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, air fryer, etc). I did read once that when cooking (ie cakes), eggs are best used at room temperature though.
