The New Nintendo 3DS XL console in glossy metallic black is the latest in the 3DS XL series. As the bigger sibling of the New 3DS, the New 3DS XL has updated design features and two large screens, one of which is a resistive touchscreen, so you can use either the stylus or your finger to interact with your games.
Super-Stable 3D
Introducing Super-Stable 3D for the first time, this new 3D technology follows your face and eye movements to move with you. You’ll find this creates a clear 3D image even as you move and results in deeper colours than the old 3DS XL 3D technology produced. You can control it via the slider as well as restrict its use via parental controls if you are concerned about your children using it. Providing true 3D without the glasses, the Super-Stable 3D is a completely new 3D experience for the New Nintendo 3DS XL.
Updated design
The new design features curved corners and a glossy metallic black finish. The New 3DS XL also has a sturdier, hard-wearing construction thanks to the improved build quality of the console. With the two large screens, you’ll be able to make the most of the upgraded hardware inside the New 3DS XL and enjoy a whole inch of extra viewing room on your top screen compared to the New 3DS.
Say hello to the new C-Stick
Mirroring its smaller sibling, the 3DS XL also features the new ‘C-Stick’: a second analogue stick on the console, positioned just above the ABXY buttons. With compatible games, the C-Stick provides a variety of functions, including changing camera position and accessing special menus. It adds a new dimension to gameplay and makes the New 3DS XL’s controls feel more like a console controller. You’ll also notice two new shoulder buttons on the back of the New 3DS XL that are slowly being utilised in New 3DS games, adding more complexity and functionality.
